Our story

Ueno was founded in 2014 by Halli in his living room with a starting capital of $1000. In seven years it grew to one of the most respected design agencies globally, with offices and clients in multiple continents.

We worked with many of the most innovative companies in the world (you can see some of them ticking by here above) on large scale, strategic product and brand initiatives. We built products used daily by billions of people and created brands that changed the world.

We won multiple industry awards, including Webby Awards, Red Dot Design Awards, D&AD Pencils, Cannes Lions, FWA’s, Awwwards, and many more. We were one of the Ad Age best places to work, and we landed on the Inc. 5000 with the fastest growing companies in the U.S. a few times.

In 2021 Ueno was acquired by Twitter in one of the largest independent design agency acquisitions in history.

We were 100% bootstrapped, profitable every year, never took a loan, never raised money.

And we were super duper humble about it all.
